In the News… How Homeopathy can be a part of Health Care Reform

Some of you have asked me recently whether homeopathic care will be included in health care reform.  This is a good opportunity to use the 4 Rules of Life: Show up, Pay Attention, Speak Your Truth with Kindness, and Take Responsibility for Your Part.  Now it is time dear reader for you to do your part.

“Dr. Nancy Gahles, NCH President, has been working diligently these past months to make sure that the homeopathic profession is fully represented and included in the current talks about health care reform. Please see her letter and call to action below.

Dear NCH Members,

We MUST have homeopathy identified in any new national health plan, and having national certification of homeopaths will do that. The national certification that we endorse is the CCH, Certified Classical Homeopath, granted by the Council for Homeopathic Certification. See their website for further information:

Everything about ‘right to practice’, however, still comes down to state-by-state jurisdiction so it is ESSENTIAL that we have health freedom in each state. We DO want to thank all of our legislators for the inclusion of language of CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) but we also want to inform them that the majority of CAM professions do not require licensure, as they pose no threat of harm, and therefore will never become “licensed” CAM professions. National certification ensures a quality of education that one can depend upon when referring or seeking professional consultation.

The ACCAHC, (check out their website, an academic consortium of CAM professions whose mission it is to advance networks of integrated professions, has invited the Council for Homeopathic Certification (CHC) and the Council for Homeopathic Education (CHE) to submit an application for membership as Emerging Professions. This is quite a coup as this consortium has previously been open to the licensed professions only.

For a link to your state legislator, go to You will find a canned text. In the body of that, please make the request for the inclusion of the words, “unlicensed nationally-certified CAM providers” OR write your own heartfelt text. You can also include a request that the language of the Health Savings Account be changed to provide for tax-free dollars to be able to be spent on these CAM services and products/medicines.

Our time has arrived, our voice is being heard. Now more than ever, we need your continued support in whatever way the Spirit moves you.

Much heartfelt thanks to all,
Dr. Nancy Gahles, DC, CCH, RSHom(NA)”
